Free Holiday

Who wouldn’t want a free holiday? What conventional job or business provides free holidays? Well, in the Kleeneze business free holidays are a reality, and we are delighted that Justin Rowe & Tracy Bell have just been awarded a free holiday to the five star Fontainbleau Hotel in Miami – all expenses paid. Well done Justin & Tracy and their fantastic team on this amazing award. They will be enjoying gourmet restaurants, driving American muscle cars,  getting the VIP treatment at the Miami Heat Basketball game,  taking in the rich wildlife of the Everglades, with the holiday culminating is the Kleeneze Gala Dinner at the Fontainbleau Ballroom.

Will it Make The Boat Go Faster?

A week or two back we had the privilege of attending an event that Ben Hunt-Davis was speaking at. Ben is an Olympic Gold Medallist from the rowing 8+ Team from Sydney 2000 and author of the book “Will it Make The Boat Go Faster?”

Amongst other things Ben now speaks at all sorts of events on the basic concept of focussing on a specific goal. In his case the goal was to win Gold and to do that they had to to focus on making the boat go faster.

The extent to which they focussed on this goal was demonstrated by their non-attendance of the Sydney Olympic Games Opening Ceremony. They asked themselves whether missing a meal and standing for 5 hours would make the boat go faster. It wouldn’t make the boat go faster, so they were prepared to sacrifice what would have been a hugely important event for any Olympic athlete. Being slightly less fatigued and better nourished may have been the slight edge that made all the difference. I guess attending the closing ceremony was all the sweeter with a Gold Medal around the neck!

How focussed are we on our goals? How clearly defined are our goals? Do we have a specific deadline? Are we prepared to make sacrifices?

Clearly to excel at anything, something has to give, and Ben’s book “Will it make the boat go faster?” is a brilliant explanation of his commitment, focus and subsequent rewards. It’s a gripping story and highly inspirational.

Total Freedom

We have just booked two weeks in the Caribbean in a beautiful beach front five star hotel. While we know how great it is to be able to take ourselves away on exotic holidays what we feel makes it all the more gratifying is that we have total freedom to go where we want, when we want and we don’t have to ask anyone for permission. The total freedom offered by our Network Marketing business is priceless. To think that in the past while in a job we had to fit in with other colleagues holiday plans and get “permission” from the boss. In one of my earlier jobs we were told specifically what weeks we had to have our holidays!

DSA Award of Excellence

In our last blog post we explained our view that being in at the start of a new network really is not necessary to be successful and indeed, for most people would actually be a disadvantage. Well. last Thursday our view on this was further supported at the UK DSA awards evening when the fantastic business that we work with, Kleeneze, was awarded the most coveted ”DSA Award of Excellence”.

We see this as a reflection of the “excellence” of the network, the staff, the management, the directors and everything that Kleeneze stands for. You could say “Kleeneze is the best, and that’s official!”

Kleeneze has stood the test of time and is very proud of this award and indeed proud to have been a founding member of the UK DSA many years ago.

Get in at the start

In our 12 years in MLM we have seen so many new start-ups we’ve lost count. We have had so many phone calls and emails saying things like ” We are in pre-launch; get in at the start” blah blah blah. Here are my thoughts on all these offers:-

1. Most of these opportunities are coming to the UK from the USA and we have seen time and again how the USA culture and way of doing business often does not transfer successfully to the UK or Europe in general.

2. Because of 1. above, after a short time these companies that arrived in a blaze of glory soon fade away or withdraw from the UK altogether.

3. A minority of these companies and their method of operation is illegal.

4. If they are new, they can’t be proven; certainly not in the UK/Europe

5. If they are new they won’t have a full support infrastructure in place.

6. If they are new they won’t have UK/Europe leadership in place.

7. Most telling of all is that most people that have approached us to join their “Get in at the start” opportunity have done so more than once; with different opportunities. First they’re pitching us on one opportunity and then a year or two later they are pitching us on something else. What does that tell you?

Having said all this we understand that there will be legitimate companies expending into the UK and we also understand that very occasionally someone will have got involved with an MLM company that just isn’t right for them and they need to move on. However, it’s also our observation that the vast majority of people that move from one opportunity to another do so in search of the MLM holy grail. We firmly believe however that success comes from within ourselves; not just from joining the latest new opportunity to come our way.

Our recommendation is to find an MLM that is well established, has a comprehensivesupport system in place, has good leadership and has genuine customers that are themselves nothing to do with the network. We understand that our opportunity is not for everybody but we also strongly suggest that in most cases the latest “get in at the start” opportunity is not the one to go for.
